The Teatro alla Scla, also known as La Scala, is a famous opera house. The operating season of the theater typically starts on December 7, which coincides with St. Ambrose's Day. A rule closely followed in the theater is that no one is allowed to enter if a performance has already started.

Another such rule is that all shows must end before midnight. Part of the theater is the La Scala Museum. Inside is a host of paintings, statues and costumes related to the history of the La Scala.
